Project Overview
For this project I designed a Public Service Announcement (PSA) campaign series of three posters promoting safe driving in school zones.

The campaign will focus on three areas of school zone safety:

- Stoping at crosswalks
- Obeying posted speed limits in school zones
- Putting away phones and other distractions
1.  Poster 1 - "Drive"
This posters intended to remind school zone drivers to obey posted speed limits.
2. Poster 2 - "Wait"
This poster is intended to remind drivers to be aware of children and crossing guards at crosswalks.  It is also a reminder to pay attention at school crosswalks and to wait for students and crossing guards to completely exit the crosswalk before driving through.
3. Poster 3 - "Focus"
Poster three is a reminder to everyone to focus on their driving and their surroundings, to put away phones and other distractions that may prevent them from seeing children who may not be paying attention to drivers.
This campaign is driven by my personal experiences as a teacher.  As one of my morning duties I served as the crossing guard for two years.  During that time I saw drivers carelessly driving in the school zone and blatantly ignoring posted speed limits.  I had several experience where drivers did not stop for the crosswalk while I was standing in it. On a few occasions I was nearly hit.  On several other occasions, children were nearly hit, including two times where parents children had to pick up their child and jump to safety.

All of these examples illustrate the importance of safe driving in schools for the protection of children. In each of the near-missed above, the panic and trauma caused to children and their parents could have been avoided if drivers had been following traffic laws.
